About

Jan Peeters is now working on his Eemian-Rhine PhD-research at Utrecht University, Faculty of Geosciences.
Before this, Jan worked as a geologist at the Geological Survey of the Netherlands, where he actually performs part of his PhD-research now. But earlier, his two main-focuses were: 1. the sedimentological characterization of the northern part of The Netherlands and 2. The 3-D geological modeling of the Provinces of Zuid-Holland and Noord-Holland.
As a Junior Researcher in Quaternary Geology and Climate Change at Utrecht University Jan's focus was on the soil-science as well on GIS and cartography, since his main-goal was to produce a new soil-map of the peat-areas in the Province of Utrecht in The Netherlands.
During his MSc in Physical Geography Jan worked with different dating techniques, like 14C, OSL, Palynology and Tephrochronology, in order to study the fluvial evolution of the Niers-Rhine (Germany).
